Welcome to the Year 6 class page.
In Year 6 we work together to be the best that we can be in both our work and in our roles supporting other children across our school. Our class has twenty-eight students who really show that they are caring, confident and creative in all that we do. Mrs Shirtliffe is our class teacher and Mrs Budding is our teaching assistant.
The Year 6 curriculum has three separate topics which are Conflict, The Amazon and Leonardo Da Vinci. We also work hard to ensure that we are well-prepared for the end of Key Stage 2 assessments in May.
Our classroom is a great place to learn as it expresses who are by displaying our amazing work, but more importantly, we support each other in a learning environment where a positive mindset and the understanding that mistakes prove that we are learning to be the best that we can be.
Bourbon- we have an additional member in our class. This is Bourbon. He is a dwarf hamster. We have to take lots of good care of him and be quiet so he isn't afraid!

Outdoor Art inspired by Andrew Goldsworthy
We created this outdoor art installation to show our respect on Remembrance Day. The design is inspired by the poppies that were displayed at The Tower of London in 2018. The poppies are made from painted plastic bottles. We then added the important message 'Lest we forget'.
