Year 6

Welcome to the Year 6 class page.

In Year 6 we work together to be the best that we can be in both our work and in our roles supporting other children across our school.  Our class has twenty-eight students who really show that they are caring, confident and creative in all that we do. Mrs Shirtliffe is our class teacher and Mrs Budding is our teaching assistant.

The Year 6 curriculum has three separate topics which are Conflict, The Amazon and Diversity. We also work hard to ensure that we are well-prepared for the end of Key Stage 2 assessments in May.

Our classroom is a great place to learn as it expresses who are by displaying our amazing work, but more importantly, we support each other in a learning environment where a positive mindset and the understanding that mistakes prove that we are learning to be the best that we can be.

Bourbon- we have an additional member in our class. This is Bourbon. He is a dwarf hamster. We have to take lots of good care of him and be quiet so he isn't afraid!

Year 6 are currently working really hard learning about Conflict. During our history work we have been learning about WW2 and preparing ourselves for a visit to the Holocaust Centre in November.

Through our class book, we have been learning about terrorism and the effects it has on different people involved.

We work really hard in year 6!
