Mrs Shirtliffe recommends Clockwork by Philip Pullman

This is a book I studied as part of my teaching degree as I am an English specialist. I was instantly drawn to the dark, twisted nature of the story which matches my personality. I really enjoy how the author intertwines two stories and uses the idea of clockwork to link it all. My favourite part is seeing how children react when they listen to the story. Once you unwind the clock and it starts ticking, it will not stop until it meets the end!!
