Reading is central to our curriculum offer, from Early Years right through to Year 6. We strongly believe that all children should learn to read, and develop a love of reading, as soon as possible as it enhances their access to our curriculum and to life long learning.

The Book Wizard!

To support an ethos of reading for pleasure, each term the ‘Book Wizard’ provides a mystery book for each class. These are specially selected by the reading lead to engage the children. These books are shared at the end of the school day. This is not used as a teaching aid but as an opportunity to sit and listen to a book being read together.
