During their course of time at our school, almost all pupils will have a medical condition that you may need school to support with. Sometimes these are short term requiring the school to make adaptions for things like broken limbs or to administer medicines. Some medical conditions are longer term requiring healthcare plans and training for staff who are supporting the medical condition, such as conditions like Asthma or severe allergies. Some medical conditions are unplanned requiring us to give instant medical support (First Aid) at the school, such as for bumps or pupils becoming unwell
Whatever the medical condition, we are happy to help. Please don't hesitate to contact us and we will put you in touch with the right person or provide you with the right advice. Please see the information below regarding more common questions and medical conditions and the more detailed information in the medical conditions policies at the bottom of this page.

If you require school to administer medication to your child (for example antibiotics or pain killers), this will need signing in 'in person' at our school office (or in Breakfast Club). We have strict rules we are required to follow in respect of administering medication but we will be able to advise you of these when you contact us. Please Note - children are not allowed to 'sign in' medication and we are unable to give medication back to children at the end of a day unless they are accompanied by an adult.
For all other medical conditions, please contact our school office and we will advise you on the best way to support you.
There may be occasions where we need to administer first aid for your child's health or welfare. This can range from assessing a bump or cleaning an injury, to administering medication or even accessing external medical support. Our school has a team of first aiders trained in all different forms of first aid.
Where first aid support has been given to your child, this will be logged on a school online system called 'Medical Tracker' which will notify pupils emergency contacts of the injury or the first aid that was given. Please Note - Should a pupil require medication, intimate care or emergency medical care as part of a first aid incident, we will call you as soon as possible.
