School Council

Welcome to Lake View School Council

We are a group of children elected by our peers to represent the views and opinions of all of the pupils within our school.  We look at topics such as our school environment, health and safety, anti-bullying, fundraising and much more.

We have been busy talking about lots of topics already.  We have thought about what we would like to do at the end of term, after our KIRFS quiz, and given teachers a list for students to vote.  We have been asked to think about our playground again, once the building work is over.  Also, we are trying to find out what school dinners we all enjoy the most, so that the lovely kitchen staff can get more of us eating our healthy school dinners.

Playground

Councillors researched designs for the KS1 playground.  They took a selection of designs back to classes, and children voted for their favourite.

The designs were completed over half term, and the playground is now looking fabulous.

Meanwhile, the Councillors voted to replace the climbing wall on the KS2 playground with monkey bars.

Anti-Bullying

Councillors discussed the recent anti-bullying production in school, and filled out a student feedback questionnaire.

Children in Need

The children looked at merchandise on the Children in Need website, and voted for what they thought pupils would like to buy.

All of the wrist bands that were ordered sold out!

Reading

The School Councillors have been sharing their experiences of reading at Lake View.  They are collecting suggestions for ways that it could be even better.

Litter Picking

Lots of children have signed up for litter picking duty.  These names will be added to a rota.  Look out for the rotas in your classrooms.

Anti-Bullying

Miss Warrington asked us to look at our Anti-Bullying Policy and give our opinions.

Charity

We have started to think about ideas for Comic Relief and Muscular Dystrophy.

We had another successful Comic Relief Day. Everyone looked great in their bright clothes. Thank you to everyone who donated cakes to sell. We will find out how much money we raised shortly.

Keep Lake View Tidy!

We are asking for ideas and suggestions for keeping our school tidy and litter free.

Keep a look out for what we are talking about in School Council by checking the boards in classrooms, and the hall.  If you would like to give us your ideas on our topics, or anything else, talk to your School Councillors.
